Post an announcement, reply to a thread, message a member - and it reaches their phone moments later. Here’s what the Agend app notifies members about today, what’s coming next, and the controls that keep the whole thing welcome rather than noisy.

New message in #announcements
now
Megan: The August workshop program is live - bookings just opened.
Tapping it opens the exact conversation - the channel,
the thread, the message - rather than dropping the member at the app’s
front door and leaving them to find it.
What sends a notification today
Channel messages
Fresh posts in any channel a member belongs to - announcements, event chatter, general discussion.
Live now
@Mentions
Someone names them directly. The one nudge people least want to miss.
Live now
Thread replies
Movement in a conversation they started, or one they’ve weighed in on.
Live now
Direct messages
One-to-one and small-group messages, delivered the moment they’re sent.
Live now
Learning reminders
New lessons unlocking, certificates earned, CPD deadlines creeping up. The app already knows where to file these - we’re building the sending side now.
Coming soon
Event reminders
A “starts in an hour” nudge for anything a member has registered for.
Coming soon
Association announcements
The broadcast moments - renewal windows opening, AGM notices, headline news.

Every switch belongs to the member
A notification somebody didn’t ask for is worse than no notification at
all - so each type has its own switch, and it’s honoured at the moment
of sending rather than quietly hidden on the device. In
Profile → Notifications, every member sets their own:
Channel messages on/off
@Mentions on/off
Thread replies on/off
Direct messages on/off
Quiet hours - do-not-disturb in their own timezone
Mutes for individual channels
Sound on/off (silent delivery)
System-level permission, always respected
Polite by default
Real activity only
Every notification traces back to a person - posting, replying, messaging. Nothing is manufactured to pull people back into the app for its own sake.
Only their corner of the community
Members hear about the channels they belong to and the conversations they’re part of - and never about their own messages.
Glanceable, not revealing
Previews are kept short - enough to decide whether to look, not enough to expose anything sensitive on a lock screen. The detail stays behind sign-in.
Quick
From message sent to lock screen is typically under two seconds.
